As a fan of the graphic novel, this was a particularly amusing. This is the hokey treatment a money grubbing TV exec would give to these complex human personalities.
Animation was wicked nice. You're stuff continues to impress, and I hope you keep refining your craft.
My only complaint would be the voice of Bubastis & Rorshach. It makes my skin crawl with agitation. But . . . job well done perhaps?
This is gonna spread like a wild fire. Good work!

Glad the NG crew finally discovered you.
I remember seeing this one about a year ago. Seeing it again, it's amazing how nicely put together it is shot-wise, timing-wise, and even animation wise (albeit a bit rough on the line work). Funny set up & gags.
I really hope you return to animations with this sort of broad appeal, or at least just a little less SPAM-ish. Your new stuff is mesmerizing, but it almost feels like therapy for you. Its really a niche audience. Of course, maybe you want it that way. :)
Eitherway, I'll be watching your stuff.

Very nice short. 'Twas done cleanly and thoughtfully. Also, automatic props for original idea.
Animation was nice. The flowers expressions and faces were very clear, and reminded me of Ryan Khatam's stick death animations. Technically speaking, the animation was clean, yet it felt a little bland for my tastes.
This is also true for the subject matter, and I saw the ending coming a mile away. Pacing felt a tad slow & story felt a bit disjointed--for instance, for as much as we see that snotty kid, I was expecting to see him show up again. This felt the same for his other torturers.
Good sound work as well. Overall nice work. Keep on keeping on.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the thoughtful review. The point of this short wasn't so much to blow minds as it was to just make a straightforward, "clean" looking flash, to demonstrate that I can in fact animate in flash (I'm a 3d animator by day), and create a short from start to finish. There are a ton of things that I learned and, looking back, would have done differently. I think it is a bit bland, especially for those of us who regard animated shorts as more than just casual entertainment. But the important thing for me was actually seeing a project through to completion.
That said, a few months ago, some co-workers and I watched your Bambee short and laughed for hours. Take care.

Top grade visuals for internet standards. The character designs were very appealing, almost reminiscent of Tony Fucile's work. The shot comp, staging, and expressions were all very clear. I loved the BG design as well. Those stylized cars at the beginning were hot.
There were a couple of tiny blurbs visually though. In the shot with the monster in the museum, the feet were definitely not planted during the walk. I wouldn't mind except for the fact that it seemed to be the focal point. Also, the scene with the guy realizing the gun was out of his hands felt twice as long as it should have been.
I was also confused with the fat guy who talked like Kim Jeong Il. Eitherway, it was pretty amusing.
Slick work overall.

Very fun & simple. I like the little faces and how they denote stability. Graphics weren't as polished as Totem Destroyer, but the gameplay is up there with it. Good one.

"Daaaammmmmnnn. These beats are soo fresshhh. Snnnap!"
That was cool. Seamless & funny animation. All their animation loops felt appropriate with the assigned instrument. Good work.

I'm not one who usually enjoys the avant garde type shit (unless it's purposefully spam-like and funny), but this was an nice watch. The beat was good, and the drawing style on the characters is really cool to look at. The only thing that bothered me was the perspective error on the lions legs. I don't think this was intentional, but there's definitely a problem with the implied ground plane and the foot placement there.
This was an interesting watch. Cool stuff.
Author's Response:
Yeah, I had noticed the foot placement but it didn't look right when I tried to fix it, so I kept it. Thanks dude.

I felt like I was sitting in Sunday school watching a clever & cute skit being performed by some guys with decent repute, except it's not really clever or cute, but I'm sitting there, thinking it's actually kind of stupid and nerdy, and I confused as to why all the kids around me are clapping really loudly over such an overtly geeky idea. Also, the down syndrome kid in the front row just vomited on the complimentary donuts. It's kind of like that.

Once again, you manage to perplex me. I give you points for something so fresh and unique.
I couldn't help but start laughing, yet I'm at a loss for why I did. Maybe it was something deeply carnal that triggered me, but either way I cracked up.
You have a knack for depicting nervous breakdowns, and some of your animation madness definitely has a method. I particularly liked the motion in the very last shot.
Anyway, I'm over analyzing now. Keep freaking all of us out.
