Nope

I can appreciate you are at the very least attempting to think critically here about how what we do in our leisure time affects our reality, but it's clear you've got some issues mixed up.

Most sensible people can separately compartmentalize their entertainment and reality, especially when it comes to video games. It's not a new debate, in fact, it's a very tired debate. Crabby moms & senile politicians lost this one a while back. If anything, you should be criticizing the sheer amount of time invested in playing games, not it's supposed brainwashing effects.

Also, it's incredibly ironic that you are seemingly against "ridiculous & weird" ideas. Even more ironic that you mentioned the media as a threat to religion. Brainwashing usually conditions people to limited, conformed views of the world that breeds close-mindedness . . . ie religion, the most pervasive form of it. It's clear that you are pretty regressive yourself, so it doesn't surprise me that you don't appreciate fresh & diverse, or rather, "ridiculous & weird" ideas.

Anyway, cute drawings.

o ya, postin a link to img of nude girls doesnt help u out. pervert

Instant 10 for my audible laughing.

Certain scenes could have been whittled down, but Jesus-fucking-Christ, did I laugh.

Skaijo responds:

Some shit I really did take too far. But this stuff was purely a memento of the fun I had with my friends before I headed out to school first and well-edited/well-animated(if even that) animation second. xD I'd love to make a sequel but regrettably, everyone I know is married now. It's the new plague.

wow

Okay, I have to preface this by saying that TF2 has been my favorite game for the last year and a half, so yes, I'm biased as fuck.

But sentimental gaming butterflies aside, this was really well done, and the animation was pure fun. The liberties you take in how the characters move around is awesome. Your poses and facial expressions are always so pushed, and I for one love that shit. The judicious placement of overlapping action and held drawings worked pretty nicely.

Some of the pixelated BGs lessened some of the great animation, and I have to admit I cringed with the Benny Hill theme song. The ending was a bit corny, but considering this was a VG parody to begin with, it was admittedly fitting.

I loved how far you ran with the story, and I think that's what helped elevate this above the typical VG spoof.

Fun stuff.

TmsT responds:

Thanks! A very perceptive analysis there.

Excellent

That was really good. The animation itself is rough, but the expressions, posing, and ideas are all solid. And this whole thing was fucking funny. I like how you started fudging the Bible stories with fairy tales and Christmas stories.

You could have a much broader following if you wanted to. At this point, you're off the deep end, and to be honest, that fascinates me to no end, but I love seeing that you're capable of universally appealing entertainment. This was especially true with "Alfred Gets Fixed."

I for one would like to see more content like this from you, but above all else be true to yourself as an artist.

Kudos.

el cid i made this when i was 15. so dont worry im still off the deep end.

wait, what?

Started off alright. I thought this was supposed to be a straight up comedy with such an absurd idea. (bio-engineered chicken?!) When the kidnapper demanded the chicken so dramatically, thought that was intentionally funny. As it drug on after that, I realized we're supposed to take this thing a somewhat seriously. Not good.

The semi-serious tone of this piece makes the whole thing just weird. Character's didn't seem very interesting, and a lot of the writing felt . . . like it was writing.

I commend you for going through and finishing a concept you had, but this isn't working.

zeedox responds:

Thanks for the feedback that I honestly found really useful. I think you're right, it isn't really working.

wow

I am thoroughly impressed. Normally, when a bbs-induced meme gets overblown, the results are usually pretty shoddy, but this was relatively awesome. The Unstable tactical nuke mascot killed me. Good job.

Galneda responds:

Thanks very much!

Awesome

"Draw slowly. . ." That had me in stitches.

Cool little scene. Felt like this could be a part of a larger production/story. By itself it's charming and hilarious, but I see potential. Dragged just a tiny bit somewhere in the middle, but otherwise very good.

Funny stuff.

KartuneHustla responds:

Thanks man! Yeah I see what you mean... Maybe next year I can make a longer one with more going on haha who knows!

Whoa

It's like modern art, except with actual technical skill behind it.

TheBoogley responds:

oh El-Cid, you say the darnedest things! Bill Cosby would love to interview you! X3

Not bad, not great

The tension you build with the monster, and then just having him give a candybar was pretty nice., but why'd you have to use a name brand bar? Kind of ruined it for me. Would have liked to see something original here.

And speaking of originality, I couldn't help but be reminded of Adam Phillip's flash that has a similar premise and ends exactly like this.

Should try doing something that's a bit more your own.

GoatmanGADs responds:

I was unsure whether or not to use a brand name, in fact I DID make it my own to start with, but then I thought a mrGoodbar was just too funny, I suppose next time I should go with my first intinct, I'm on the same page with you about keeping it original though so thanks for letting me know!

Wow

That was really nice, man. Imaginative & fun. The graphic look was also done very nicely. Akin to the KFP opening scene.

Kudos.

AlmightyHans responds:

thanks dude! also, whats KFP?

Hold onto your butts.
