My feelings are still the same.
Y'know, I've been an avid disliker of the LF flashes, and I thought to myself, "Self, perhaps you're being too cruel. Everyone else likes his stuff. Go ahead and watch this brand spanking new flash with an open mind."
That only made me more certain of my preconceived opinions and cynicism towards people.
I was honestly expecting perhaps an improvement in the area of graphics, writing, and timing, considering you've been doing this for several years. But it's just another microwaved crap burger that tickles people's nostalgia bones.
Graphics-wise, that intro sequence was nothing short of mediocre. The running cycle on the girl looked like one of her kneecaps was shattered. The recycled scenes that were merely warped to looked like they have perspective are just plain lazy and un-pro.
The sound was just blah. Appropriate sound effects and such. But what really chaps my arse are some of the voice actors. Honestly, the whiny psuedo-British man voice could kill a baby with enough exposure.
And the dialog itself is nothing clever or witty. If you were going for just plain silly, well, you failed there too. And Kevin, or Steve, or whatever the heck his name is, did nothing for me. Actually no, I lied. I felt contempt and embarassment. Much like your other flashes when you have a character making nerdy passes at your damsels.
Story is inspired by a video game and thus is uninspired. I wouldn't hate so much if it worked better as a parody. I love parodies, but they have to work. So much time is spent on crappy action sequences, boring story progression, sketchy dialog, and jokes that are dead before they exit the womb.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
